Contract Freight

Postby Dave Reed » Wed Nov 07, 2018 4:45 pm

Freight companies usually have a problem- too few airplanes and an overabundance of freight, especially during the holiday season. That's right, for cargo airlines, the holiday season is upon us! This is why freight carriers often use on demand contract carriers. Here at HAG we want to be as close to reality as we can when it comes to freight. Our main freight carrier here at HAG is our own Seven Seas Air Cargo. SSA often uses contract carriers for carrying freight when they don't have an airplane available. Today I copied all of our SSA 747 flights over to Seaboard World, so they can more easily fly those long haul cargo flights when needed.

As a member of HAG, understand that we support the use of contract carriers. If you have an SSA trip, feel free to substitute any freight carrier with a similar airplane. For example, if you want to fly from Long Beach to Toledo in the DC-8-61F, you can substitute the SSA airplane with a contract carrier DC-8-61F. Check out Historic Jetliner Group and you'll find many to choose from, including American International, ATI, Capitol, FineAir, Saturn, TIA, to name just a few. All we ask is that you match the equipment. Try not to use mainline carriers like ABX, FedEx and UPS as substitutes. They're not on demand contract carriers. The world economy is booming and the Victoria Secret catalogs absolutely, positively must get through!
