Charter flights

Postby HAG0733 » Mon May 07, 2018 11:57 pm

Good morning everyone,

looking forward many exciting historic flights as HAG pilot I have one question I could not figure out: How can I fly a charter flight? I refer to the annoncement on the welcome page about free flights.

Do I just make up a flight number and use it in the pirep?

By the way I am not able to get the kAkars working (some pilots have the same problem).

Thank in advance.
Best regards

You can always try, but that won't work :D.
You just do a bid on a charter just like on any other flight.
Charter flights can be found by searching on particular aircraft (mostly with "CHESTER" or "CHARTER" in their title), or by searching on the below airports.

When you've done the bid, do a flight from/to whatever you like, and file the PIREP for the CCAxxxx flight.

I don't consider "isn't working" as a spot-on diagnosis, please clarify.

And how do you know others have the same (undefined) problem?
If it's from this thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=285 ,
then you should read it to the end as it offers a solution as well.

Happy landings,
Wim

Thanks Wim for yor friendly reply.

So I understand charter is not that the pilot „gets to decide where to fly to“ (see welcome page) - its just called charter but a bid with predefined from and to airport. OK checked.

Indeed i read the mentioned thread till the end - but the offered help did not work on my computer.

No problem I report the flight manually.
Best regards

I wouldn't say that.
In the past I've been flying a big part of the U.K. and Ireland, f.e. took off in Dublin, Ireland and landed in Glasgow, Scotland... and booked that flight as "Luton Charter".
It's a way of discovering scenery and airports that are not serviced by regular HAG-flights.

I see, Penny s dropping, so I book one of these flights (from Luton to Luton - I missed to realize from and to are the same) and decide from where to where to fly.

Excellent!

Thanks vor your help, Wim!
